Los Lobos Natives Sons (Feature Documentary)
Since 2022, Videocratic Media has developed a feature documentary on Los Lobos’ legacy with Oscar-winning producers/directors Doug Bush and Piero F. Giunti. This documentary explores the fifty-year history of the East Los Angeles rock sensation, which has won four Grammy Awards in its prolific music career.
Los Lobos Native Sons promises to be the ultimate chronicle of one of the most influential bands in rock history.
Drawing from their early lives on the streets and in the backyards of East Los Angeles, the narrative is as much about their music as it is about the richness, diversity, and creative power of the City of Los Angeles and the Chicano movement.
This documentary boasts unprecedented access to the band, their friends, family, artistic partners, and personal archives. It presents the rise of an unlikely team of cultural heroes who have helped elevate Chicano art and music like never before.
Los Lobos has worked with many of the music industry’s biggest names throughout their long career. These include Lucinda Williams, Lila Downs, Carlos Santana, Tom Waits, Ry Cooder, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Robert Plant, Ruben Blades, Ozomatli, Steve Earle, Bonnie Raitt, and Bob Dylan, all of whom provide heartfelt perspectives on the impact Los Lobos has had on the industry. The producing team is looking to premiere their film during the 2025 film festival season.
