‘Hate Among Us’
As “Architects of Denial” was wrapping up, Videocratic Media and Associated Television International teamed up again to develop and produce another human rights-oriented feature, “Hate Among Us.”
This time, focusing on the phenomenon of resurgent globalized anti-semitism. Shortly after Mireille Knoll, an 85-year-old Holocaust survivor, was brutally murdered in her Paris apartment in the spring of 2018 by her Arab Muslim neighbors, David McKenzie, the owner of Associated Television, began the project. This act was an unprecedented example of anti-Semitism. It reverberated around the world. Although extreme, it was emblematic of global trends.
VideocraticMedia hired Robert Corsini to book and produce key interviews with academic and political experts on the subject. They also hired him to book victims around the world. The victims could tell the details. They could also describe the results of the growing trend of hatred against Jews. The troubling storylines for “Hate Among Us” took shape at every new encounter. Field Director Robert Corsini led the global trajectory of the narrative. He interviewed many people in major U.S. cities, Europe, and the Middle East. And as production progressed, new stories emerged, such as the “Tree of Life” synagogue massacre in Pittsburgh.
The mission of ‘Hate Among Us’ is to understand the origins of anti-Semitism. It also aims to understand its modern forms. In every place and filmed interview, new perspectives emerged. They showed how easy it has been for people to act on their bigotries. They do so when social norms permit it.
The film ‘Hate Among Us’ premiered theatrically in 2019 and is now accessible on demand worldwide.
